The best stuff for liners is called little additions microfleece. Other fleece will work but it is a lot bulkier. Prob is that it is all on clearance ATM so it may have sold out. Go to the counter and ask for the little additions stuff. SL staff are renowned for their black stares and for having no idea of what they have got so if you have trouble and really want some let me know as they still had stacks of it at my local SL. Where are you BTW?

The brushed cotton will be absorbant to an extent but no way near as a cotton terry towelling. Bamboo and hemp will leave it for dead in the absorbancy department too.
Also with the cotton if you make too many layers it will take forever to dry.

If you make some fitted nappies down the track you will be able to use the brushed cotton as the inner or outer layers with a more absorbant panel (such as bamboo) inner layer.

Its the Brunswick store (SL). Wheres the best branch? thats the one thats in my area.

I know Bamboo, pul etc can be purchased online - and for small quantities, do you think I might be better going with that rather than SL?

I meant to look for towelling and forgot - but will try to remember. Sounds like its worth getting.

    Thanks.

ETA - i just looked up Lincraft and see theres are few not stored not too far from me. Is Lincraft worth going to? Have never been there before.
Is there a store i can purchase hemp or bamboo from? rather than needing to order it online?

Epping Spotlight is pretty good for baby materials. no hemp or bamboo though (i have only get them on-line). i know they have little additions and nappy flannalette. Maybe give them a ring before you go, if it's not where you would usually go.

I haven't found much baby stuff at Lincraft.

ETA: I went to the Epping/Mill Park Spotlight today. They have heaps of the Little Additions microfleece. Right at back of shop, towards the shelves with all the zips, buttons, ribbons etc. the second row in (away from the shelves).

Bamboo and hemp is pretty much something you can only buy online.
Fountain Gate is my local SL. Might be a bit of a trip for you to come out from Brunswick though. There is a big one at Springvale which would be about half way. Might be worth giving them a call.

Have a look at the DFO Essendon store, quite new and very large. It may have what you are looking for.
